Here in the Pacific Northwest, the first week of Summer brought us a very wet, and stormy weekend. Finding myself frustrated and indoors, as soon as the sky broke open and blue appeared, I was on my way out the door with camera gear in tow!
I made a snap decision to go explore some new (to me) areas in Oregon, and scout some locations for future outings as well. It ended up being a very productive day, with several species of birds that I had not yet seen this year. Among those were the beautiful Lazuli Bunting, Willow Flycatcher, and Rufous Hummingbird. I couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon!!
