I recently returned from Arizona where I spent some time photographing numerous species of birds that I previously have not photographed, so it was a very exciting addition to my trip!
This image is of a particularly gorgeous female Great-tailed Grackle. Grackles fall into the Blackbird and Oriole family. They are a rather large bird with yellow eyes and a magnificent long, keeled tail. They eat shrimp, frogs, small birds, insects, and the eggs and young of other birds.
